Our 8650KM Row to LA
Over the University Easter break in 2025, BUBC is heading to Nantes, France, for a six-day BUCS preparation camp. Throughout the camp, our athletes will complete high-mileage training sessions along the Loire River, building strength and endurance for BUCS Regatta.
During the camp, our goal is to row a combined distance of over 8650KM—the equivalent of the journey from Bath University to Los Angeles, the next Olympic host city. This monumental challenge, covering over 8 million metres, will test our athletes’ physical and mental limits. Through this effort, we aim to raise over £10,000 to fund essential new equipment for our women’s squad, replacing their first eight, which is nearly a decade old. This investment will ensure they have equipment on par with the best of British rowing.
