Fundraising
We are currently fundraising for a new coxless four.
As part of the first Bath University crew to row at Henley in 1991, I recall the fabulous time we had at Bath and have so enjoyed the subsequent lifelong friendships that have ensued.
Following the passing of my mother, Penny (Penelope) earlier this year I have decided to make a contribution to BUBC in her memory to increase rowing opportunities for current and future students. Hopefully they will have as much fun and dare I say, success as we did!
In consultation with Charlie Newbould, the BUBC RowIng Coach, the next boat purchase will be a 80kg Filippi coxless four. The cost will be £20k including VAT, to which I have donated £10k, so the order can be placed in June . I am hoping that through a combination of Alumni donations and student/University fund raising then the remaining amount can be raised for delivery of the boat in September.
In memory of my mother, the University have kindly agreed that it will be called Penelope.
